Today was Judah's first day of preschool. We had a new polo shirt picked out in honor of the occasion, but he was determined to wear his Chewbacca shirt instead. Rather than cause a scene on an already potentially stressful morning, we let him wear Chewbacca.

I'm also proud to report that Judah marched straight in the classroom this morning. No fuss, no tears, and practically no "good-bye" for Mommy. After a traumatic adjustment to his first preschool experience last fall, I could not believe how easy it was for him to walk in the room today. My big boy!

Judah really wanted to go to soccer camp this summer, so we signed him up for a week-long program nearby. It has been super hot for the first couple days, but he's having a great time anyway.

Today was Judah's last day of school for the summer. It has been an incredible year. After all the drama at the beginning of the year, I can't believe how much he LOVES it now!

Poor Micah hardly gets his picture taken. His big brother steals all the attention! In an attempt to redirect the spotlight for a moment, here are a few cute photos of the little guy that were taken over the past month or so.

Micah eating his favorite meal of the day: breakfast! Yes, he has an orange nose. Too many carrots and sweet potatoes on the menu, I guess. Judah went through an orange-nose phase at this age too...he eventually outgrew it.

This morning Judah decided to build a giant tower out of items he found in the pantry. I wasn't thrilled by the idea at first, but I have to admit, I was impressed by his construction skills!

Micah was content to watch the construction from the sidelines.

After all that building, it was time for a granola bar break!

It's moments like these that make me so thankful to spend my days at home with my boys. I have the wonderful opportunity to see their creativity and imaginations develop first hand.

There is an amazing playground near our new house that we call the "Castle Park." Judah absolutely loves it. Two of his favorite activities are:

Riding the horses (with all the intensity of a real jockey)

and sliding down the "rolling pin" slide. With his best buddy, Jason, of course!

A Great Hike at the Great Swamp

Warren had the day off on Friday, so we went for a hike at the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. It was a beautiful fall day. We saw several deer, turtles, a chipmunk, and lots of trees.

It's hard to tell in the pictures, but Judah and Micah are wearing matching outfits. Judah is also wearing a special "I LIKE PICKLES" button that he got from the Farmer's Market the day before.

Judah and I took Micah to his 2-month check-up this morning. He weighs 14 pounds 6 ounces and is 24 1/2 inches long. He has practically doubled his birth weight and added 4 inches to his birth length. What a big boy!

The weather was beautiful here in New Jersey this Saturday, so we took a quick trip to a local park. Judah's favorite activity is pretending that he is a french fry vendor at Judah's French Fry Stand. In some of the pics you can see his french fry sticks.

We also bumped into a couple of Judah's friends at the park, Martha and Margaret. Martha helped Judah at the Fry Stand while Margaret serenaded customers with some soothing pipe music.

Judah and Daddy built a snowman after coming back from a Big-Boys-Only Pancake Breakfast this morning. Judah's favorite part was trying to find a curved stick for the mouth.

Alas, the sun is really warm today and the age old fate of the snowman came tragically soon for our Mr. Frosty...he has already toppled over in the front yard. I guess we will be having the "what happens to snowmen when they melt" discussion sooner than I had hoped.

We truly did not appreciate how big Judah had gotten until Micah came along. Judah is such a big boy, and a sweet big brother. Often when lost in some other play, Judah stops suddenly and exclaims, "Where's baby?!!" He then needs to run and find Micah wherever he is...just to make sure he is OK, I guess. Maybe in some way it helps to reconfirm that he is indeed a big brother - which is a thought that really seems to please him.

Also, please note the special purple blanket that Aunt Betsy knitted for Judah. Micah has already stolen it. He has turned out to be quite a cold-natured little guy, so this blanket has come in very handy. It is his most loyal accessory to date - except for Mommy and Daddy, of course. Thanks Aunt Betsy!

Sorry it's been so long since our last update. Judah will be 13 months old on Tuesday. He is walking all over the place and has seven teeth. Here are a few pictures from Judah's first birthday party, celebrated last weekend with his Nana, Great Granny, and other special friends.
